Zekal One integrations: accounting, payments, shipping and messaging
Most of this platform replaces integrations rather than adding them — sales, inventory, approvals and billing already share one database, so there is nothing to sync between them. What follows is what genuinely connects to the outside world, and an equally straight list of what does not.
The first question everyone asks
Yes — QuickBooks Online, both directions
Invoices, customers, items and sales terms are pushed into QuickBooks Online. Inventory quantities and invoice PDFs come back. It runs on a schedule rather than a nightly batch, so the books are never a day behind the warehouse.
This is the accounting connection that exists today. If you run something else, say so on the call — we would rather tell you it is not there than let you discover it during implementation.

Being straight with you
What Zekal One does not connect to
Vendors usually leave this page out. It is the more useful half: if one of these is a hard requirement, you should find out now and not in week three.
- Other accounting systems. No Xero, NetSuite, Sage or SAP Business One. QuickBooks Online is the only one.
- Other payment gateways. No Stripe, PayPal or Square. Authorize.Net is the only gateway.
- Automated sales-tax services. No Avalara, TaxJar or Vertex. Tax is calculated from a per-state rate table you maintain — capable, but it is not an automated tax-compliance engine and we will not describe it as one.
- Direct carrier accounts. No direct UPS, FedEx, USPS or DHL API. Parcel and freight go through EasyShip and Priority1; tracking links point at the carrier's own page.
- EDI. No X12, AS2 or SFTP trading-partner feeds. If a large retail customer demands EDI today, this is not the platform for that lane yet.
- Ecommerce storefronts. No Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Amazon connector. The B2B portal is our own.
- Chat and automation tools. No Slack, Teams, HubSpot or Zapier connector.
- Compliance rulebooks. No state-legality engine and no age verification. The platform records what happened on every order; deciding what is permitted stays with your compliance process. See the kratom and hemp page for how that plays out in practice.
A CRM that needs an inventory integration, a portal that needs a pricing integration and an accounting package that needs an order integration are three problems this platform does not have — those live on one database. The integrations that remain are the ones that genuinely reach outside your business: money, parcels, conversations and your accountant's software. Fewer moving parts is the point, not a gap. Integration questions we get
Does Zekal One work with QuickBooks?
Yes, QuickBooks Online, in both directions. Invoices, customers, items and sales terms are pushed across; inventory quantities and invoice PDFs are pulled back. You connect it yourself through Intuit's OAuth flow and can disconnect it the same way. QuickBooks Desktop is not supported.
We use Xero. Can you connect to it?
Not today. QuickBooks Online is the only accounting system with a working connection, and we would rather say that than put a Xero logo on this page and sort it out later. Tell us on the call what your accountant needs and we will be specific about what it would take.
How do shipping rates and labels work?
Parcel goes through EasyShip, which quotes across couriers and buys the label from inside the order. Pallet-sized freight goes through Priority1 for LTL quotes and booking. Tracking updates come back automatically and land on the order. There is no direct UPS or FedEx account integration — the carriers are reached through those two services.
Which payment gateway do you use, and can we keep ours?
Authorize.Net handles cards and eCheck, including stored payment profiles, refunds and hosted payment pages. It is the only gateway wired in. If you are on Stripe or Square today, that is a real migration question and worth raising early rather than late.
Can our customers or suppliers connect to us programmatically?
Yes. There is a first-party REST API with signed webhooks: a partner can pull your catalogue and inventory, submit orders, and subscribe to order, shipment and inventory events pushed to their own endpoint. That is our own API rather than an EDI lane — X12 and AS2 are not implemented.
Does it calculate sales tax automatically?
It calculates tax from a per-state rate configuration that you maintain, and it tracks excise exposure and stamped versus unstamped inventory alongside your stock. What it is not is a connection to Avalara, TaxJar or Vertex, and we will not call it automated tax compliance. If your filings depend on a tax engine, keep it and we will scope how the two meet.
